Funky dance/rock band Super Massive headline Opening Night celebrations for BLEACH, bringing an electrifying, four-piece, live disco funk electro rock set.
The Gold Coast's best-kept music secret, award-winning dance/rock band Super Massive, are headlining Opening Night celebrations for BLEACH Festival 2026, bringing an exhilarating, uplifting vibe to HOTA's Lake Precinct, with the transcendental sounds of the Festival’s BEACON Community Choir.
The night is set to be a monumental, psychedelic Spring Awakening celebration, with the Gold Coast community invited to gather and feel the joy of Spring, dancing to Super Massive's ultra-funky music as the sun sets on the epic art installation, BEACON, by UK artist Morag Myerscough, as neon lights light up the lakeside precinct. Super Massive is the creative co-writing partnership of singer/songwriter Malina Hamilton-Smith and drummer/composer/producer Glenn Abbott, best known for his work in platinum-selling cult band MGF. The duo fuse the raw energy of dance with loving crafted multi-layered synthscapes and poetic lyrics, the retro grit of 70s funk, and visceral rock power.
Their evocative, synth-laced song Fists In My Pocket, is the theme music for Bleach Festival 2026.
