PERSPECTA II invites visitors to step into a continuing dialogue between artists and the environments that surround, shape and inspire us.
Bringing together seven artists: Kieran Davis, Jane Brennan, Adam Buck, Esther McDougall, Kaz Hughe, Tracy Gee and Tony Wright this exhibition explores the many ways we experience and interpret our connection to place. From the shifting tides of the sea and the movement of rivers, to the landscapes we inhabit and the idea of home, each artist offers their own unique perspective on the environments that hold meaning for them.
The exhibition considers place not simply as a physical location, but as something deeply connected to memory, experience, belonging and identity. Landscapes can evoke childhood memories, waterways can become markers of time and change, and the places we call home can carry stories and emotions that stay with us long after we have left.
Through a diverse collection of contemporary works, PERSPECTA II encourages us to pause and look at our surroundings differently; to consider the landscapes beneath our feet, the waterways that move through them, the places we return to, and the sense of belonging we create within them.
Each artist brings a distinct visual language and personal interpretation to the theme, creating an exhibition that moves between the familiar and the unexpected. Together, these six perspectives create a rich and varied conversation about our relationship with the places we live in, move through and hold close.
Set within the light-filled space of Studio 8 Currumbin, PERSPECTA II offers an opportunity to experience these different perspectives side by side and to reflect on your own relationship with place.
