Zemzemeh is a duo weaving Persian traditional instruments and modern electronics into immersive sound-worlds. Join us for an intimate journey into the lyrical depths of Persian mystical poetry and music. Listen, feel, and reflect on themes of love, longing, unity. Mysticism is not an exclusive path. It’s an invitation to quiet the mind, open the heart, and listen to the subtle inner “zemzemeh”… the whisper within.
Siyavash plays tanbur, an ancient three-stringed lute from Khorasan, once heard mainly indhikrSufi ceremonies, and Greta plays the shah Kaman, a modern Australian instrument based on the Persian kamancheh with a haunting resonance. Zemzemeh sometimes augments their traditional acoustic sound with electronic instrumentation and beats, you might want to dance!
