Saturday 24 October 2026 | 11:00 AM
Mermaid Waters
Join artist Juniper Sikora for a free, one-hour sensory experience discovering water through sound, observation and creative experimentation.
You’ve never actually seen water.
Or have you?
Water is everywhere in our lives. We drink it, swim in it, walk beside it and watch it fall from the sky. But how often do we really stop to notice it?
Join Gold Coast interdisciplinary artist Juniper Sikora for a free, one-hour participatory experience exploring water through listening, close observation, sensory discovery and creative experimentation.
Discover hidden underwater sounds, investigate droplets and surfaces, explore unusual materials and encounter water through perspectives you may never have considered.
There are no right answers. No scientific knowledge or artistic experience is required. Just curiosity.
Presented during National Water Week 2026 (19–25 October), the sessions form part of Juniper’s Water Response Atlas practice and accompanying exhibition at Broadbeach Library.
Juniper is an Australian Water Association Water Ambassador for National Water Week 2026.
Free admission. Limited places. Advance bookings essential.
Two sessions. One hour to encounter water differently.
Come curious. Leave noticing more.
