Contemporary poetry to provoke and ponder.
Curated by poetry champion and community activist Huda Fadlelmawla, Voices of Black Ink: A Night of Poetry & Panel Discussion celebrates the power of spoken word poetry as a force for artistic expression and social change.
As the founder of Black Ink and MC for the night, Huda brings together a powerful line-up of Black Ink poets for an evening of dynamic performances. The night continues with a compelling panel discussion exploring their creative processes, inspirations, and the role of contemporary poetry in art, community, and activism.
Join us for an unforgettable evening at HOTA Gallery, where spoken word poetry meets thought-provoking discussion. This is a night you don’t want to miss!
Black Ink, based in Meanjin (so-called Brisbane), is a BIPOC-centred open mic space dedicated to centring Black artists and uplifting BIPOC artists. Over the past year, we’ve created a community hub where artists can gather, share, and grow in a space that prioritizes open discussion and fosters meaningful connections.
This event is about celebrating some of our city’s BIPOC artists and giving you the chance to hear their stories. We are bringing Black Ink to you. So don't miss this.
