Southport
A 4km walk, symbolising the four lives lost to childhood-onset heart disease (CoHD) each week in Australia, and held in honour of all children living with CoHD.

HeartKids are champions of the heart as Australia’s leading Childhood-onset Heart Disease (CoHD) charity, and the only not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and advocating for families impacted by CoHD. We bring care, connection, and compassion to those living with CoHD. As CoHD is for life we’re a companion for every step of the journey, making holistic care possible with access to tailored information, resources, and support.

Did you know:

  • Every 3 hours a baby is born with CoHD. That’s 8 babies a day whose family’s lives have been changed in a heartbeat.
  • Each week, four precious lives are lost to CoHD. Nationwide, it is the leading cause of death in infants under 12 months.

Those keen to take on a greater challenge can choose to do the course twice, and tackle 8km in recognition of the eight babies born with a CoHD each day.

Participants walk side by side with HeartKids families and every walker carries a coloured flag.

  • Blue is carried by those living with CoHD
  • Red is carried by those walking in support
  • White is carried by those walking in memory of a Heart Angel (a deceased loved one)

Pack a picnic rug or chairs and stay to enjoy a morning of connection and family-friendly activities.
