The Robert Fontana Trio feat. Ingrid James

Roberto Fontana (trumpet/vocals, from Rome, based in Brisbane), and his trio with Peta Wilson on piano and Benja King on double bass, joins forces with Award-winning jazz vocalist, Ingrid James.

Ingrid has been described “as a vocalist with a rich timbre and impeccable phrasing, she has a voice that caresses, embraces and nurtures you…” (Nikolas Fotakis, Australianjazz.net). She has a style that effortlessly blends classic jazz with Brazilian and contemporary influences. With a voice, both intimate and expressive, she brings a rare emotional depth to every performance – whether interpreting a timeless standard, a tender bossa nova or an adventurous modern arrangement. Her latest CD has been released by ABC Jazz, and this year, one of her tracks has been featured in the ABCJazz “Women of Jazz ’25 - Various Artists” compilation CD, where Eric Myers from The Australian recently described Ingrid as being one of Australia’s finest female vocalists.
