The Take Two Big Band showcases some of the Gold Coast's best young and up and coming musicians. Come along and support the evening.
Take 2 – a new big band led by Andrew Montfroy – showcasing a talented lineup of emerging young musicians will take to the stage. This new initiative reflects Andrew’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and supporting the next generation of talent, having already started the Project Swing Big Band.
Don’t let the name fool you – there’s nothing second-rate about this group. Take 2 represents the next wave of exceptional young musicians coming through the ranks. Made up largely of senior high school players, the band is already turning heads with its tight ensemble work, impressive musicality and infectious enthusiasm.
Performing a mix of classic big band charts and fresh contemporary arrangements, Take 2 Big Band delivers a sound that is both polished and full of life. The only thing separating them from their Project Swing counterparts is a few years of experience and even that gap is closing fast.
Doors open at 6pm, concert commences at 7pm. Bar and bistro available.

Presented by the Gold Coast City Jazz Club. Concerts held twice monthly, usually on the first and third Tuesday of the month. Occasionally a Sunday Twilight show is also arranged.
