Join us for a very special night as Sweet Thunder launches The Wind in the Willows – Rick Best’s brand new jazz suite.

The Gold Coast City Jazz Club and the Sweet Thunder Jazz Orchestra will be presenting the first full length performance of The Wind in the Willows: A suite for jazz orchestra, composed and arranged by Rick Best. This will be an evening to remember – a world premiere no less!

The suite comprises 14 individual pieces, composed over many years. Sweet Thunder has recently released a complete recording of the suite, which has been very well received.

ABC Gold Coast radio has played some excerpts from the recording and interviewed Rick about Sweet Thunder and the album. The tracks have been added to the ABC’s national jazz database by Mal Stanley, the presenter of Jazztrack on ABC Radio National.

Doors open at 6pm, concert commences at 7pm. Bar and bistro available.

Presented by Gold Coast City Jazz Club. Concerts are held twice monthly, usually on the first and third Tuesday.
