Sunroom – Battle of the Bands
Wednesday 06 August 2025 | 10:00 AM
Surfers Paradise
In this workshop, we'll imagine our own band name in our favourite genre and design the band's first gig poster!
In this workshop we're celebrating the exhibition National Gallery of Australia: Enjoy this Trip – The Art of Music Posters currently on at HOTA Gallery, by thinking about our favourite genres of music and the kinds of visual aesthetics musicians use to convey feelings associated with their work and message. We'll spend time coming up with our own imagined band name in our favourite genre and designing the band's first gig poster!
Recommended for ages 16+.
HOTA's Sunroom program provides a safe creative space for art making creative play and exploration for adults who identify with disability.
We believe in the social model of disability – that is, disability is the result of the interaction between people living with impairments and an environment filled with physical, attitudinal, communication and social barriers. (Sourced from PWD)
No prior art making experience is necessary, only a willingness to engage your imagination, curiosity and sense of play.
