Bringing together experts to present on injury prevention alongside a morning run and shoe testing, learning about new shoe technologies, games, and more.

Shoes and Brews is a free event that aims to bring education to both practitioners and the general public alike. It consists of a series of presentations and interactive workshops on topics that are related to walking/running injuries and injury prevention. The goal is to bring the public and practitioners together to advocate for our professions and improve the communities longevity for running.

The event will be held at Balter Brewery. There is food and drinks available for purchase at the venue and it is a family friendly event space.

There will be a morning run, wear test, coffee and Q&A with the experts out the front of Made Cafe and The Foot and Balance Centre in Tugun on the Currumbin Esplanade with Adidas, Brooks, Hoka and Altra all bringing different models for you to trial along the beachfront in a 4km run.

Schedule

  • 8am: wear test and 4km run from Made Café, followed by a footwear presentation and a Q&A from the experts
  • 2pm–6pm: Shoes and Brews main event at Balter Brewery
  • 6pm onwards: Balter brewery remains open until 8pm for those wishing to keep the discussions going.
