Ever wondered how sea water is transformed into clean, safe drinking water? Join Seqwater for a behind-the-scenes tour and discover the technology that makes it all possible.
Operating since 2009, the desalination plant plays a vital role in the SEQ Water Grid, supplying drinking water across the region. As a climate-resilient water source, the plant ramps up production during droughts, floods, or when conventional water treatment plants are offline. Using advanced reverse osmosis technology, the facility can produce up to 133 million litres of drinking water daily – that’s more than 50 Olympic-sized swimming pools!
Whether you’re curious about how desalination works, the plant’s role in increasing our water security, or just keen to see the process up close, this tour is for you!
