QLD Native Food Festival – Saltwater Dreaming brings together native foods, culture, art and storytelling for a unique First Nations cultural celebration

Presented by Independent Indigenous Tour Operators of Queensland (IITOQ) in partnership with GATHAA First Nations Markets, the festival showcases the world's oldest living culture through food, music, art and community connection.

Visitors can enjoy live native food cooking demonstrations with renowned First Nations chefs Mindy Woods, Aunty Dale Chapman and Chris Jordan. Learn about native ingredients, traditional food knowledge and contemporary cooking techniques while discovering the foods that have nourished First Nations peoples for thousands of generations.

Enjoy a morning of food, storytelling and cultural connection at Native Flavours at First Light at Tallebudgera Surf Club, a ticketed breakfast curated by celebrated First Nations chefs Mindy Woods and Chris Jordan of Three Little Birds Events, and featuring Aunty Dale Chapman, My Dilly Bag this shoreline breakfast weaves together traditional bush foods, smoky bush honey, earthy wattleseed, tangy rosella and warming native teas.

Explore the GATHAA First Nations Markets featuring First Nations artists, makers and bushfood businesses. Enjoy cultural workshops, weaving, Jarjums activities, live music, didge circle performances and cultural dance throughout the day.

Festival entry is free, with selected experiences ticketed separately.
