Join artists Bianca Sleeman and Natalie Yates for an inspiring introduction to contemporary pottery.

Bianca Sleeman and Natalie Yates will share their creative journey, artistic practice and the techniques behind their distinctive ceramic works.

Through live demonstrations, you'll discover sgraffito, a decorative technique that involves scratching through a surface layer to reveal contrasting clay beneath, and nerikomi, the process of layering coloured clays to create intricate patterns and striking visual effects throughout the ceramic form. As the artists share their skills, insights and experiences, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how these techniques can transform clay into unique works of art. Following the demonstration, enjoy a special open studio experience, offering a rare opportunity to explore the artists' workspace, view works in progress and learn more about the creative process behind their practice.

Whether you're curious about pottery, interested in trying a new creative pursuit, or simply looking for an engaging arts experience, this session offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look into the world of contemporary ceramics.
