Planetary Parade
Saturday 28 February 2026 | 07:00 PM
Lower Beechmont
A chance to witness six planets aligned and explore the night sky through guided astronomy and telescope viewing.
Come and be part of an extraordinary evening with Gold Coast Astronomy this February as we marvel at a breathtaking Planetary Parade!
In early 2026, prepare for a celestial spectacle as six planets align along the ecliptic. You’ll have the chance to gaze upon Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn with nothing but your eyes and then venture even deeper into our planetary neighbourhood as we explore the distant worlds of Uranus and Neptune through one of our telescopes (subject to viewing conditions).
The night will include a guided tour and telescope viewing of all the visible wonders the Southern Celestial Hemisphere has to offer this February. From the Moon itself to planets, star clusters, nebulae, and constellations, guests will experience the night sky as it unfolds above us.
Our Public Astronomy Night events explore a specific topic and encourage interactive discussions around the everyday astronomical events we often take for granted, perfect for curious minds of all ages, from beginners to seasoned skywatchers.
Complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided throughout the night to keep you warm and comfortable under the stars.
Gold Coast Astronomy also offers you the ability to relive your experience with:
- a take-home star chart of the night
- a summary of key visible celestial objects
- an opportunity to capture your very own photos through one of our telescopes using your mobile phone.
Tickets are now available to purchase via our website or via EFTPOS on the night (if not sold out prior).
We look forward to welcoming you and embarking on an educational and memorable night exploring our Galaxy and beyond...
