Numinbah-Holding Tight Community field days

Numinbah Valley
Join our Holding Tight community field day to help restore habitat linking Springbrook and Lamington National Parks.

Join us for a hands-on community tree planting and habitat restoration field day to strengthen wildlife corridors and improve water quality in the Nerang River catchment.

The Numinbah – Holding Tight project began in 2019 as part of the Gold Coast’s Biggest Tree Planting Day, where thousands of native trees were planted on former dairy pasture in the Numinbah Valley. Since then, the project has grown into a long-term, landscape-scale restoration effort supported by community volunteers, students, and partner organisations.

Through regular field days, the Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre P&C (NVEEC P&C) continues to build on this work, planting native species, caring for established plantings, and supporting the recovery of important habitat connections between protected areas.

Whether you’re keen to get your hands dirty, meet like-minded people, or contribute positively to the local environment, our Holding Tight field days offer a relaxed and meaningful way to volunteer for a few hours.

After the planting activities, everyone is welcome to stay for a cuppa and enjoy our much-loved morning tea.
