Mob Makers Meet

Mob Makers Meet is all about celebrating First Nations creativity, building networks, and strengthening our artistic community.

Monday 18 May 2026 | 05:30 PM

Mermaid Waters
A networking event and artist talk for First Nations people working in the arts.

The event is designed to elevate First Nations artists through a series of talks and conversations created exclusively for First Nations audiences. It provides a supportive space to connect, share experiences, and build relationships within the arts community.

We are proud to welcome Karul Projects Artistic Director Thomas E. Kelly as our guest speaker. A proud Minjungbal, Wiradjuri and Ni-Vanuatu man, Thomas’s work in dance and theatre continues to shape the industry. He is a graduate of NAISDA, co-founder of Karul Projects, an award-winning choreographer, a Creative Australia Dreaming Award recipient, and a Sidney Myer Fellow.

Join us at Broadbeach Community Space on Kombumerri Country for an inspiring artist talk where you can connect, share ideas, meet new people, and reconnect with familiar faces.

The event will begin with a Welcome to Country, followed by an artist talk, and conclude with networking and a shared meal. Come along, have a yarn, and connect with Mob.
