Huxley & Friel Musicians

Come and spend the afternoon with us at Coast Acoustics, where local musicians and music lovers gather for a relaxed, friendly afternoon of live acoustic music.

If you thought a hot frypan was quick to burn your fingertips, try touching Huxley & Friel’s fretboard after they’ve smoked a set of blazing bluegrass tunes and originals at one of their shows!

Huxley and Friel are both independently deeply refined and experienced standalone musicians from the Gold Coast, coming together over a shared love of the guitar and a steep interest in bluegrass music. Together, the two have certainly created something greater than the sum of its parts.

Aside from their clear ability on various instruments and wide knowledge of differing styles, the two are simply a joy to watch. Don’t miss the chance to experience one of their exceptional live shows!

Last year, the duo played at festivals such as Groundwater Country Music festival, Bleach Festival, Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass festival and are set to play at Stars of Charlotte Plains festival alongside a host of other shows around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Please note: Due to a recent increase in venue hire fees we have had to increase the open mic entry fee from a gold coin donation to $5. This is still a very cheap way to enjoy an afternoon of wonderfully talented musicians and keep the club viable so we have a space to showcase our talented members.
