After their debut project in late Spring 2025, 2PP continue their programming with a series of contemporary art lectures on the Gold Coast. Identifying a gap left by the higher education sector, the series will continue the organisation’s focus on providing a platform for contemporary art and ideas in the city and establishing 2PP as an independent voice for contemporary practice in the region.
Lecture Me continues 2PP’s commitment to ambitious programming. Rather than artist talks or panel conversations, the series seeks to champion the ‘Lecture’ as a critical form. As such, it will feature practitioners (academics, artists, or thinkers) who are engaged with the pressing issues and ideas of today.
- Lecture 1, Kim Stokes ~ Degrees of truth-ness: Notes on making and sharing images online, 29 July
- Tutorial 1 with Nicholas Tossmann, 12 August
The program aims to send audiences away with a fresh sense of engagement, armed with new avenues of exploration. Each lecture will have an accompanying recommended reading list to encourage continued learning and further enforce the lecture as a specific and valuable format.
Each lecture will have an accompanying Tutorial, facilitated a fortnight after the lecture by a local artist/arts worker. In this session, the group will dive into the recommended readings and reflect on their own takeaways on the topic.
- Doors open at 18:00PM for a 18:30PM start
- Duration 60 Minutes
- Tea, coffee and biscuits provided
- Recommended reading list for the tutorial will be available at each Lecture
