Bringing together three Gold Coast-based digital artists – Elda Koro, Kellie North and David Smouha – whose work shows just how varied digital art can be.
If you have ever looked at a digital artwork and wondered how it was made, how much of it comes from the artist, the tools, or both, this is your invitation to slow down, ask questions, and look more closely.
Each artist uses digital tools in their own way, from photography and images to layers and visual storytelling. With their work on display in the gallery, you’ll hear the stories behind the art, the choices that shape it, and how each piece comes together. We’ll also talk about the difference between digital art made by artists and images made with AI, and why that difference is worth understanding.
Digital art has been around for a while now, but it's still often treated as an emerging or misunderstood practice. In many ways, it's going through a similar process to what photography experienced when it first arrived on the art scene: loved, questioned, and perhaps feared a little.
This event is designed for art lovers, collectors, curious first-timers, and anyone who has wondered how digital art is made, valued, collected, or understood.
