An exciting day of hands-on learning, creativity and outdoor adventure as children use real tools, develop practical bush craft skills and connect with nature.

In a safe and supportive environment, children will be encouraged to follow their ideas, create freely, build confidence and take pride in what they make.

Activities

  • Hand Tool Creations – Whittle and create bushcraft-inspired projects such as bows and arrows, magic wands, stick figures and other imaginative creations. Children will also have the opportunity to use hand drills and saws under close staff supervision.
  • Weaving – Explore simple weaving techniques using natural materials to create open-ended, nature-inspired creations.
  • Knot Tying & Rope Swing Play – Learn useful knots and work together to set up and enjoy rope swings.
  • Ochre Making – Explore earth colours and create natural pigments using ochre and other natural materials.
  • Creek Exploration – Discover local wildlife, explore the creek and enjoy shallow water play.

The use of hand tools is closely supervised by staff, with a strong focus on safe tool use, responsibility and respect for the environment.

For ages 6–9 years.
