Places are limited and demand for this workshop is high - we are currently accepting Expressions of Interest with ticket sales opening on Thursday 9th April 2026 at 10am.

The City of Gold Coast has partnered with Justice Connect to deliver an in-depth and interactive workshops on the topics below. Participants will work in small groups to talk about legal issues, look at real-life scenarios and solve problems together.

  • Legal roles of committee/board members as decision makers
  • Differences between governance and management
  • Legal structure and status of your organisation
  • Importance of rules/constitution and legal purpose or objects
  • Four key legal duties of committee/board members
  • Potential liabilities, protecting yourself and your organisation
  • Other relevant laws
  • Top tips and additional resources to help in the future


Places are limited, registrations will open on Thursdsay 9th April at 10am. Complete your Expression of Interest and receive a reminder to register.

Dont miss this exciting opportunity to boost your governance skills and connect with fellow community leaders. These workshops are provided at no cost to you, but they do cost the City. Please keep this in mind when ticket sales open and registering your place.
