My Catch Australia & the City of Gold Coast are hosting a day of family fun to improve our waterways through the removal of invasive species

Prepare your fishing rods and join the City of Gold Coast, in partnership with My Catch Australia, for the Gold Coast Pest Fishing Classic! We're inviting the community to help combat the impact of invasive fish species such as Tilapia Koi, European Carp, Goldfish, Pearl Cichlids, and Texas Cichlids in our waterways. While the main goal of this event is invasive species management, you can also join the fun and compete for a variety of major, minor, and lucky door prizes provided by the My Catch Australia team!

You can register as individuals or get a team of 2-4 together and join the Champions League.

You can;

  • Target introduced species like Tilapia that threaten our native fish and ecosystems.
  • Learn about the negative impacts of pest species on our waterways
  • Discover how collective efforts can improve our waterways
  • Bring your catch to the weigh-in station and help track the removal of invasive species.

Join us to make a difference! Together, we can enhance the quality of our waterways and protect our native species.
