Meet the panel

We’ll start with a short panel session. You’ll then have plenty of time to explore the expo and ask questions.

Come armed with questions. This crew knows their stuff, from flood science and building materials to keeping your home cool when the heat hits.

Blake Boulton | Flood resilience expert, RBC expert panel

Why does floodwater cause so much damage, and what can you do about it?
Blake will explain how water moves through and around your property, where homes are vulnerable and which changes can help. As Managing Director of Water Modelling Solutions, he brings more than 20 years’ experience translating flood science into practical advice.

Seb Crangle | Home energy and RBC multi-hazard assessor

Can you make your home cooler, cut energy use and improve disaster resilience at the same time?
Seb helps households work out which upgrades will make a difference. He’ll connect the dots between everyday comfort, energy efficiency and heatwave resilience, so you can make choices that help your home cope as temperatures climb.

Josh Keenes | Director, Keen As Building

What’s achievable in your home, what might it cost, and is it worth doing?
Josh brings the builder’s perspective. He’s helped flood-affected households across South East Queensland tackle repairs and resilience upgrades through the Resilient Homes Fund. Hear what the work involves and how to work out where to start.

Greg Webb | RBC educator, builder and FORTIS House advocate

Why make changes now when you could wait until something happens?
After losing his family home in the Black Summer bushfires, Greg rebuilt using FORTIS House principles. With over 40 years’ building experience, he’ll share what he’s learnt and how planned upgrades, including the materials you choose, can help you prepare before disaster hits.
