Bringing community together for peace, wellbeing and harmony through the message of Buddha as an anchor.

What might happen if you gave yourself one day to slow down, explore and reconnect?

On Sunday 30 August, Mudgeeraba Showground will come alive with meditation, movement, music, cultural ceremony and experiences drawn from some of the world’s great wisdom traditions.

Experience the remarkable Gyuto Monks, renowned for their deep, multiphonic Tibetan chanting, and watch as they create an intricate sand mandala during the day.

Come for an hour, stay for the afternoon or follow the experience through to sunset. Sit in meditation with Buddhist monastics, try yoga or qigong, listen to poetry, share a vegetarian lunch and bring your pet for a special blessing. As evening falls, enjoy cultural performances and outdoor cinema beneath the open sky.

Compassion Day offers a different kind of Sunday – slower, more thoughtful and more connected.

You do not need to be religious or know how to meditate. Simply come with curiosity.
