Come along, bring a friend, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of acoustic music with a great bunch of local performers and music lovers.

East of the Sun are a vocal guitar jazz duo made up of Natasha Blankfield and Glenn Bloomfield. This duo had been operating for the last few years as a break off unit of the swing group ‘Mary Max and the Tweed Set’.

They specialise in the Jazz standards of the 30s through to the 50s. Songs with that golden era touch of romance, playfulness, and innocence. Natasha is a study and advocate for this style of music, influenced particularly by Julie London, Mel Torme, and Nat King Cole. Glenn had been pursuing a jazz voice for many years taking from Jo Pass, Kenny Burrell, and George Benson.

Schedule

12:30pm to 3:00pm – Open Mic (White Board Session) Bring your stories, your instruments, your voice, your favourite song – whatever your heart desires. The stage is open to all. It's your moment to shine in our welcoming, creative community. Sign-ups are first-come, first-served, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot!
3:30pm to 4:30pm – Grab a cold drink from our bar, sit back, and be entertained by East of the Sun

Please note: Due to a recent increase in venue hire fees we have had to increase the open mic entry fee from a gold coin donation to $5. This is still a very cheap way to enjoy an afternoon of wonderfully talented musicians and keep the club viable so we have a space to showcase our talented members.

Our open mic stands out from others with a dedicated audience, no distractions and a professional sound setup.
