"Something from Nothing" is a unique exhibition from local tapestry weavers, exploring the use of thread in the fine arts of tapestry and lace from traditional to contemporary.
The exhibition will feature the work of three award-winning South East Queensland textile artists Jenny Capper, Rita Duval and Bev Thomas.
The theme, “Something from Nothing”, refers to the various techniques used – weaving and lacemaking, where the artist starts with just an idea, thread, and time, and using a few simple tools, creates a fabric ‘from nothing’. The results will delight and astonish you!
During the exhibition, there will be demonstrations of weaving and lacemaking techniques. Come along and see how we make something from nothing.
