Currumbin Waters
A vibrant exhibition showcasing 3 iconic Gold Coast artists shared from a beautiful light filled contemporary art gallery in Currumbin.

Studio 8 Currumbin is delighted to present Spring Reflections, a vibrant new group exhibition featuring three exceptional and iconic artists: Ian Tremewen, Lorraine Abernethy and Stephen Baxter.

This vibrant show invites the public to explore fresh visual dialogues and the arrival of spring through the eyes of three distinctive creators.

Curatorial Statement

Spring is a time of awakening, renewal and reflection. Spring Reflections brings together three local artists whose diverse practices share a common sensibility – an engagement with light, colour and the shifting textures of nature and imagination.

Tremewen’s watercolour abstractions, Abernethy’s luminous explorations of colour and light, and Baxter’s reflective multi-media surfaces come together in a layered conversation about emergence, reflection and transformation.

The exhibition invites visitors to pause, to reflect on the beauty of the seasons, and to experience artworks that pay homage to nature’s rhythms, human creativity and the interplay of surface and depth.

All three artists are frequenting the gallery to greet guests and engage in conversation about their work.
