A Place To Call Home – Film Screening with Q&A

Coomera
Join us for a film exploring the powerful stories of young adults experiencing homelessness and thriving despite adversity in our Gold Coast community.
In the lead up to Youth Homelessness Matters Day on 16th April, join GCYS for a special screening of a 40-minute film. It's an invitation to listen, reflect and understand what homelessness looks and feels like, right here within our Gold Coast community.
The film will be followed by an engaging panel discussion and opportunity for Q&A, on ending youth homelessness, local solutions, collective action and ways to support.
Hear from voices with lived experiences, advocates, and experts as we explore how storytelling can be a bridge to empathy and solutions.
This event is more than just a film screening – it’s a call to action. Together, we’ll uncover ways to:
- Challenge misconceptions and create understanding around homelessness.
- Support meaningful change in our community.
- Foster compassion and involvement through collective effort.
RSVP today and bring a friend. Let’s work together to build a community where everyone has a chance to thrive.
Tickets for ages 25 and under come with a mini popcorn. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a collaborative partnership between young adults, GCYS and Studio Luma. It is with sincere gratitude this project was delivered through a generous grant from City of Gold Coast.
